NZEB Accreditation

We're delighted to share that we've recently received NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) accreditation, following the successful completion of approved courses aligned with the Irish Government's latest building and climate action policies.
NZEB standards were introduced to fundamentally change how homes are designed, built, and upgraded in Ireland. The goal is simple but ambitious: dramatically reduce energy consumption, cut carbon emissions, and create healthier, more comfortable homes — all while future-proofing buildings against rising energy costs.
What is NZEB?
Under current regulations, all new residential buildings must meet NZEB standards, which focus on:
-
High levels of insulation and airtightness
-
Efficient heating systems (such as heat pumps)
-
Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR)
-
Maximising renewable energy use, typically via solar PV
These standards apply under the current regulations running up to 2030, forming a critical part of Ireland's Climate Action Plan.
Why This Accreditation Matters
Achieving NZEB accreditation ensures that we are:
-
Fully up to date with current building regulations
-
Designing and managing projects with energy efficiency at the core
-
Advising clients with confidence on sustainable construction methods
-
Delivering homes that are cheaper to run, more comfortable, and environmentally responsible
For our clients, this means peace of mind — knowing their home is being delivered to modern standards, not outdated ones.
Looking Ahead: From NZEB to ZEB
While NZEB is the current benchmark, it's not the end goal.
From 2030 onwards, Ireland — in line with wider EU policy — will move into the next phase:
ZEB (Zero Energy Buildings).
ZEB will push standards even further, with buildings designed to:
-
Require extremely low energy demand
-
Generate as much energy as they consume over a year
-
Rely almost entirely on renewable energy sources
This shift represents a major step change in how homes are designed and built — and it's one we're actively preparing for now.
Our Commitment
This accreditation reinforces our commitment to:
-
Continuous professional development
-
Smarter, more sustainable building practices
-
Helping clients make informed decisions that stand the test of time
As regulations evolve, so will we — ensuring every project benefits from the latest thinking in energy-efficient and future-ready home design.
